A relatively new term that has not yet made its way into common parlance, "phubbing" happens when someone is so engrossed in their phone that they don't pay attention to the person sitting with them. Although it doesn't sound particularly serious, phubbing can be quite damaging to both our interpersonal relationships and our own mental health.
